Hinode Kisen was established in Nihombashi, Tokyo,
with paid-in capital of 500,000 yen and four ships.

April 1964

The company became part of the Showa Line Group as a result of a consolidation of shipping companies.

NYK Global Bulk Corporation

September 1988

Toho Shipping Co. Ltd. was established in Shintomicho,
Chuo-ku, Tokyo, with paid-in capital of 100 million yen. Over 18 handy bulk vessels were taken over from Shinto Shipping Co. Ltd., and American and Canadian log transport operations were started.

NYK-Hinode Line

October 1998

The company became part of the NYK Group as a result of a merger between NYK Line and Showa Line.

February 2001

The company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of NYK Line through a share exchange program.

The company became a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK Line.

The company changed its name to NYK-Hinode Line Ltd. and become a conventional vessel operator within the NYK Group.
