NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers Ltd. (NBP), an NYK Group company, has been recognized as one of the top shipping lines in the Green Flag vessel speed reduction program that the Port of Long Beach has been conducting to improve air quality.
The Green Flag program aims to restrain exhaust emissions from vessels by having them voluntarily operate under 12 knots within 40 miles of port.
NBP-operated vessels that called at Long Beach scored an extraordinary compliance rating of 100 percent, and NBP was praised for its contribution to the exhaust gas cut. To strongly promote ESG management, NBP, as a member of the NYK Group, strives to contribute to the preservation of the global environment.
