NYK Group to Exhibit at International Wind Energy Expo - NYKバルク＆プロジェクト

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), together with group companies NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers Ltd., Japan Marine Science Inc., and Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd., will participate in WIND EXPO, the 15th International Wind Energy Expo, at Tokyo Big Sight from February 19 to 21.

At its booth, the NYK Group will use panels, videos, and models of a crew transfer vessel (CTV) to introduce new information about services* that meet customer needs in various areas of the offshore wind business. The NYK Group will also have an exhibit dedicated to its Akita School of Wind and Sea, a comprehensive training center offering offshore wind industry training programs, among others, in Oga City, Akita Prefecture, Japan. NYK and Nippon Marine Enterprises, Ltd. opened this school last April.

NYK Executive Officer Tsutomu Yokoyama will participate in a panel discussion on February 21 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK)
Overview Since its establishment in 1885, NYK has provided safe and high-quality transportation services using its world’s largest fleet and global network, extending to sea, land, and air. In the offshore wind business, the company has taken steps to own and operate a jack-up vessel with Van Oord in the Netherlands. Additionally, NYK has been studying the joint development and operation of CTVs with Sweden’s Northern Offshore Group (NOG). In July 2023, Rera As, a CTV for the Ishikari Bay New Port wind farm, began operations. Overview NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers Ltd. operates approximately 40 MPP vessels, including heavy lift vessels and module carriers, as well as approximately 110 bulkers, and is responsible for transporting a wide variety of cargo, including project cargo such as wind turbines, plant cargo, steel materials, and bulk cargo. Japan Maritime Science Inc.
Overview A maritime consulting company that conducts safety and environmental assessments of ports and marine infrastructure. For offshore wind power generation projects, the company offers surveys to consider environmental and social conditions before determining a suitable location for the installation of wind turbines, as well as business support in other areas, such as wind turbine specifications. Taking advantage of its ship handling simulator, the company also provides safety measures for ship operations during the installation of the wind turbines. Training for maintenance and inspection after installation are also offered as a comprehensive consultation service to meet customer needs.

Overview A supply chain logistics company that provides ocean and air freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution services, and supply chain management globally.
